What helps define an NDT enquiry?

You do not need a complete technical pack to make contact. A few details help establish the scope and identify anything that needs clarification.

Identify the item and the requirement

State the aircraft or component and the area requiring inspection. If a method is already specified, include it; otherwise share the requirement that prompted the enquiry.

Bring the applicable reference

A maintenance reference and its revision help connect the request to the intended inspection. Relevant component identification and applicability information help avoid ambiguity.

Include the practical constraints

Location, access, expected timing and any AOG status help plan attendance. Mention any required reporting or certification deliverables at the outset.

This note helps prepare an enquiry. Inspection instructions and acceptance criteria come from the applicable technical data and authorised procedures.
